Minshuku is a nice and cozy tatched roof house, over 150 years old, run by a very nice and friendly couple - Mr. and Mrs. Nakano, who also run a chicken farm near there. We were in 4 (my husband, 2 cousins and I), occupying both bedrooms. We arrived late (around 7pm) after getting lost in our way to Miyama. Because of this, we were led to the bath house before dinner (that was my first onsen experience... quite peculiar, but nice and traditionally Japanese). Dinner was a kind of sukiyaki with the organic chicken raised by Mr. Nakano. Very good and fresh, indeed. Beds were very comfortable and warm, even for someone who is not used to sleep in tatame. Breakfast was super well served, with fresh vegetables, preserved fish and much more. Delicious!! Miyama itself was a great experience... looks like countryside Japan as I would dream of.
