Booked thru their website. Chose the one without the breakfast as the breakfast place was just on the ground floor. wanted to check out other places for breakfast. Close to 24 hr. convenient stores, Daimaru and Mitsukoshi dept. stores. Tenjin Minami Station was also close by. making trips outside of Fukuoka convenient. Suggest download "GO" taxi app so it is convenient to get to places in the city. Used the app from airport to hotel and vise versa, visiting old hakata town, and PAYPAY dome for the 'teamLabForest" experience. Taxi fare is not too expensive, reduces the walking to and from train stations, the guess works and we are ble to enjoy the places more.
First, Ms. Le is outstanding at front desk. Very professional and welcoming. A world-class employee to have.
The room was exactly as I requested. High floor, away from the elevator, with a great view and an extra pillow. Perfect! This hotel did a great job listening to my requests.
Loved the coffee and filtered water in the lobby and the dehumidifier in the room.
The room was small but had everything you need, including a fantastic power shower.
Location is fabulous. Very close to the metro.
But…
There were several long black hairs near the bathroom sink when I arrived (not mine, I’m bald:), as well as black hairs on the bed, the desk, and around the shower. I don’t like to complain, but the housekeeping team should be more diligent in making sure the room is properly cleaned for incoming guests. Very unusual lack of attention by Japanese standards.
The blinds in my room didn’t work and it was difficult to sleep because so much light came in. The staff were apologetic but there was no maintenance person on site to fix it (?) and I wasn’t offered any compensation whatsoever (complimentary breakfast for example?). I guess 990 yen was too much for the hotel to spare for a guest having a broken room. The only option given was to change rooms to a different floor, which would have been a huge hassle since I was already fully unpacked. The blinds were eventually fixed, 1 day before check-out.
When a guest experiences such deficiencies during their stay, the staff should do more to make the guest feel comfortable and appreciated.
Great location! Extremely close to the Tenjin-Minami Station on the Nanakuma Subway Line. Access to subway either across the street or down at the end of the block. Elevator access to/from station also available at Daimaru.
Walking distance to/from Canal City Shopping, Don Quijote, Daiso, Daimaru, and Tenjin Station.
Rooms were equipped with a wall air conditioner/ heater, small refrigerator, hair dryer, outstanding shower (!!!), and electric hot water kettle. 2nd floor has ice machine, soda machine, microwave, and 2 washers and dryers.
Breakfast is provided by Komeda’s Coffee Shop immediately next door. In my opinion, this was the “weakest” part of our stay. You have basically 5 choices to choose from, all of which come with a drink.
Booked 5 nights at this hotel. However, due to missed flight connection and thus stranded in Seoul ended up staying only 4 nights (called them to cancel the first night but we were required to pay 5 nights as the cancellation was less than 24 hours, which is reasonable and acceptable in our opinion) Location is great. Close to shopping, restaurants, etc. Room is slightly larger than those in standard Japanese business hotels. Service is great.
