We have a motel room with 2 queen beds , what room should we request for a view and amenities?

I would ask for something close to the lodge and if you get facing the lawn more of a view but more foot traffic in front. I would ask for 2nd floor as well just for less noise
Going to Zion for the first time, and I have a couple questions...
- I know check-in is in the afternoon. If we arrive in the early morning, will we be able to park at the lodge then? We did receive a parking pass in the mail, and I am looking to get some hiking in before we check-in.
- Does the lodge have maps and a souvenir shop, or should we stop by the Visitor's Center on the way in?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Arriving early is the norm. Clean bathrooms within the lodge. Head upstairs (steps near lobby but also a hidden elevator around by the side) to see great artwork of the park in the main dining room. Also historical photos displayed by the elevator. Nice gift shop. Ask for AARP discount (or senior citizen's). One of them gives you 10% off, but you have to ask for it. However, if you score with good weather, skip the shop. Do it later in the evening. Instead, head out to one of the nearby trails and start soaking it all in! Another possibility is to explore the many art galleries, candy shops, etc. in nearby Springdale. It's becoming a real centerpiece! Also fun to comparison shop the hotel rates there. Most preferable, however, to stay WITHIN the park at the Lodge.
did anyone get a last minute reservation at the lodge? We have reservations in April and want to switch but wondering what are the chances of a change
I think we are sticking to original plan but thanks and good luck!
