We spent five nights at Broniwan in June. It was a perfect break in a charming location. The house is off the beaten track; you'll need a car. Carole and Allen are wonderful hosts - smart, worldly, with elegant taste in books, art and music. (Carole is a fine writer, although she's a bit too shy to acknowledge praise). Carole also is very helpful in suggesting walks, restaurants and local potteries, along with carefully written directions -- much needed and appreciated. The warm welcome is enhanced by two friendly dogs and two similarly cuddly cats. Highly recommended.
Definitely off the main thoroughfares and if you want peace and quiet you will definitely find it here. A large Victorian house in a quiet village with a lovely pond to walk around in the filelds below. The room is comfortable and cosy. Artwork frnm local artists decorate the walls. What really makes the place however is the welcome. You will be greeted with tea and Welsh cakes and any information from restaurants to art galleries and museums will be given with expert local knowledge. Breakfast is delicious and hearty. The only disadvantage I can see is that you do need to tarvel a bit in the evenings to get fed and watered as there is nothing in the local village.
Exceptional welcome in a charming Victorian farmhouse located in a peaceful and relaxing environment. Charming hosts full of attentions and lovely atmosphere. Varied and excellent breakfasts. Very well maintained garden.
We stayed with Carole and Allen in July 2012 and had the best time there. After an immediate welcome by the two friendly dogs and a short tour around the house, tea with homemade Welsh Cakes (thank you for the recipe, it works out fine) was set out for us on the lawn overseeing the beautiful grounds (we were joined by the hen and one of the dogs watching over her). The room was cosy and comfortable, sleeping there was very peaceful. Breakfast was sublime and Carole's hiking advices (including typed descriptions to take along) were great - we wouldn't have made it past the herd of teenage (and a bit wild) cows otherwise... Sometimes you just have to stand your ground... We really enjoyed the conversations with Carole and Allen. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. We'd love to come again.…
