In spite of being close to the city, you can feel in the middle of the jungle and trully go into the rain forest by taking a 3 hour hike with a guide. Nothing fancy but confortable.

Can you do any independent walking/exploring in the wild areas around the lodge? Or is it restricted to the tours? I enjoy exploring and photographing wildlife, and I was just wondering how much freedom there was to do this in my own time.
Do you have to pay extra for the trips and what type of price are they?
