Of course we will arrange this for you, welcome to First Hotel Reisen and the beautiful weather in Stockholm.
Does anyone know when was the hotel built and/or last renovated rooms?

Original houses of the hotel was built early 17th century. The hotel originally concist of 7 Buildings. Two of them were private properties, one was a guest house and the rest used as pack houses as all sailing ships unloaded their cargo here. During 1920.s they tore down the front building of 4 stories and build up a new of 7 stories and 60 rooms. 1964 they included the pack houses behind the front and into the hotel and now it had 130 rooms. During the 90.s the dining room was moved to ground floor and now it became 144 rooms as we have today. Hotel was totally renovated 1996 and partially renovated 2007. Last year we completed 2 rooms to seek out the new design for a total renovation later this year.
I hope this gives you the answers you were looking for.
Hi we are spending 4 nights at the Hotel Reisen from the 3rd to7th May what is the most direct transport from the airport without too many changes as we are seniors?
Looking at possible excursions, museums, boat trips. Has anyone tried the walking tours, the ghost walk seems to have good reviews. Is it cost affective to purchase a museum card and finally does Stockholm not offer any discounts for seniors on transport or museums?

Hi, thank you for posting a question. Great to hear that you will be visiting us next week. There are several options on transportation to the hotel from the airport. The most direct way is to take a taxi, the fixed price should be about 520 SEK. You could also take the “Arlanda Express Train” or the bus “Flygbussarna” which both takes you to the Central Station. Please have a look at their website for more correct information on prices as this varies depending on if you for example book a single or return ticket etc. From the Central Station it is a 20 minutes’ walk to the hotel or you can take bus number 53 which stops right outside the hotel. Just remember to buy the tickets before you get on the bus as you can’t buy them from the driver.
When it comes to excursions, museums, bus/boat trips and walking tours, Stockholm has a lot to offer. You can for example buy the Stockholm Pass which includes several museums and sightseeing tours; how cost effective this is depends of course on how many of the included sites you plan to visit. We can have a closer look at this and help you with more detailed planning when you arrive, just ask at the reception. Regarding discounts for seniors, there is a reduced price on public transportation if you are above 65 years, however most museums do not offer any discounts for seniors.
Please do not hesitate to get back to us if you have any further questions. A warm welcome next week. Kind regards
