my husband and I stayed at the Gibson Inn it was the chilly but the Inn was beautiful the staff friendly. We went to St. George Island and ate some delicious oysters and enjoyed the beautiful city. We would stay there every trip to Florida.
Having traveled extensively, this is at the top of my list of amazing hotels. The reasons are many. The staff was ever helpful and very warm and friendly. The inn is magical. I hope we can return there. Salem, the sweet black cat, pretty much...続きを読む
This is our second trip to Apalachicola, but our first stay at the Gibson Inn. It's a lovely, old- fashioned place with wraparound porches and a spacious lobby. The old bar is a nice place for a drink (especially on a cold winter day), and...続きを読む
The Gibson has all the old inn charm you want. The rooms on the top floor are the quietest
with village views. Apalachicola is a must see historic town. Take a bike and ride around and
look at the beautiful houses and streets. The inn's...続きを読む
We decided to celebrate the New Year by going to the Gibson Inn for their gala. The inn is "clean, comfortable and charming" as described by another reviewer; bear in mind that it is old and the floors creak and the hot & cold faucets...続きを読む

I would call. This is a historical building/site and I don't believe there have been any structural changes to accommodate disabled individuals. After visiting and staying here, I don't recall any specific wheelchair accessible areas, and the second floor would probably not be an option. Dinner might be an option, but I don't believe the bar would be accessible.
Do they charge a pet fee?

yes. $15.00 for animals up to 15 pounds, $25 for 16 pounds and up. Went and asked Kimberly at the front desk. I'm here for the murder mystery weekend.
For the Murder Mystery Weekend, do you play a character? were you given a roll? Is there truly clues around to find and solve? Was Breakfast Hot? Is all your time spent solving the mystery?

There were 5 main characters: 1 murdered person and 4 suspects. They have the script and stay in character all weekend. We dress up for "the party" where the murder happens and we are guests - we do not have an active roll. Each weekend has a different theme and the one I went to was "Charles Dickens Christmas Murder." So, we dressed up for a Christmas party and the Inn gives you the theme and costume ideas. Our contest was an ugly sweater contest. We got a choice of 2 beakfasts: eggs cooked how you like with bacon and toast, or pancakes, bacon and potatoes. So yes it is hot but not a buffet or lots of choices. We did go around town to find clues which gives you more information to help you solve the murder, but we also went shopping because you don't spend all your time doing the murder. It's a couple of hours on Friday, Saturday spaced out in the morning, clue time around lunch, after noon for questions and then final right after the 2nd seating for dinner. You do have free time to wander around and think on Saturday. I took a nap and watched a movie on TV. It is tons of fun and I am going back with my sister for the one next month.
