We had a superior twin which was large and well equipped - good to have a washing machine in the room and a heated ventilation system in the bathroom to help dry things. Location was fine - very close to the tram and buses to get to the station, castle and gardens. Pity they don’t do a proper breakfast, just granola and yogurt or an egg sandwich. Overall, we were pleased for the price we paid.

We spent five nightst at Fav Kumamoto. Location was excellent, a calm residential neighborhood with plenty of parking spaces around and a Seven/Eleven convenience store. It only takes 10-15 minutes to get to Kumamoto castle from the hotel. The room was spacious, modern, with a washing machine and a small kitchenette.
Although during check-in the lady spoke excellent English and was very efficient the rest of the days the staff seemed kind of disoriented (forgot to clean the room, not enough towels one day, too many towels the other day, etc). They were eager to help but somehow did not reach that point.

Stayed here 2 nights. Kids loved the bunk beds and the layout of the room was very efficient - with the mini kitchenette, roomy living / eating area, and washing machine (thank you for the detergent capsules!). Checking in was easy as there was 1 staff on hand to help. The breakfast sandwiches / muesli were also yummy and we could eat at the hotel lobby or bring it back to our room. Would have been better if there had been more hotel umbrellas to loan to guests - it rained all the days we were there.
The design and lighting made the room feel very chic and modern. My 8yo said this was her favourite hotel during our trip to Kyushu.
We parked our car for 2 nights at the public car park next door and it cost us JPY1500. We mostly took (nearest stop is about 10 minutes walk away) buses and trams while exploring the city.

- Comfortable bed and tatami mat (Japanese Room)
- Washing machine and detergent provided
- Quite neighbourhood
- Cheap parking lots nearby

- Very poor cleanliness... water stains in bathroom and ceiling
- Dust covered on AC and made the room not cool enough
- Mold smell from washing machine
- No curtains, only drapes which block all the sunlight
- Not much amenities, need to bring your own skincare products
- Seems like a service apartment more than a hotel

-) hotel has no Cafe for breakfast. Wish they had simple breakfast box arrangement for room guests as there isn't any cafe/restaurant nearby other than a Seven Eleven at the corner.
Overall a very pleasant hotel and will stay again.
