Facilities are older, but well-furnished, clean, and peaceful. Both dogs are friendly, and the chicken farm is adorable. The surrounding area also has much to explore in the river and in the woods, as well as in the town of Akiu. There are no restaurants or grocery stores nearby, so come equipped with groceries or microwavable foods -- the kitchen is free to use.
We generally had a good time chatting with Steve until our last day, where his behavior verged on sexual harassment towards my female companion and me. Steve is friendly with many locals in the area, and took us to visit Azuma, a local artist and architect. Azuma's house is a museum of items she's collected around the world and of her (amazing) art; however, we were neither notified of the 500 yen/person charge nor would pay to experience the half hour of sexual harassment again. Inside Azuma's house, Steve made multiple unsolicited comments about the hair and body shape of my female companion. Steve similarly was insistent that I "looked beautiful with my hair down," and continued suggesting ways I could wear it down when I told him I preferred it up for practicality; commented that I was his "dream girl" and that it was "a shame he was twice my age", and, upon my refusal to touch the penis of a large doll, told Azuma that I "was shy" and loudly whispered "maybe she's a virgin". Steve responded defensively to being told that his behavior made my female companion uncomfortable, and continued to tell them that they were beautiful and there was nothing wrong with them. He further requested that we laugh the confrontation off with him, so he did not think back and feel bad about it.
Though both of us were excited to return to Akiu-Canada prior to that morning, we do not plan to do so at this point. The best way to avoid feeling bad about your actions is to avoid said action in the first place, and we very much will not be opting into a repeat experience. We hope Steve can similarly choose not to repeat these comments to future guests.

今年初のキャンプ。
寒波が来てたのでめちゃくちゃ寒かったですが、まるで野営のようなサイトで野営感バッチリ。普段のストレスから解放される事間違い無し！焚火をつけ、川を眺めながらのウィスキーは最高でした。ファミリーならばメインのフリーサイトがおすすめです！お風呂は希望すれば準備してくれます。かなり広いお風呂です。湯治場みたいな雰囲気が最高！私はカナダ人のオーナーさんとご一緒していろんなお話しました。もう少し暖かくなったらまた行ってきます！

If you are looking for perfect getaway from city hussle, this place is for you, But mind it, this place is more like deep in nature & no luxurious kind of stuff.
