Garage 24 is a very simple accommodation. It has a few rooms with bunk beds (and a few gers). Shower did not have a very high standard. There are pit toilets (do not look down…). We came there at 11 pm. They asked the cook and they made spaghetti for us. We slept well in the bunk beds. We had a simple breakfast. By bad weather conditions our cars could not reach Nature Door so we could sleap in Garage 24: they have a relations with Nature Door Tourist Ger camp. Friendly people. Some of them speaks English.
When I arrived, Davaa, the manager of this wonderful oasis amongst a slather of accommodation mediocrity in Hatgal, was at the gate to greet me with a welcoming smile. And when I departed 4 days later, packs strapped to back & chest, Davaa walked with me to the gate and waved me off, smile still beaming. And in between this, Davaa was the most gracious host of any accommodation I stayed at in Mongolia. Her co-workers were all as friendly and as helpful throughout my stay. The chunky bunks in the dorms, hewn from local timber, are rustic yet comfy. The little wood burner stove in the dorms keeps you cosy. The stone fireplace in the large lounge crackles in the evening with a warm glow. The food you are served here is so tasty & hearty. You look out over the fields down to the lake from the big windows at one end of the lounge. I couldn't fault this place.…
