This hotel has a very nice and affordable restaurant in the main floor and it has been recently renovated so everything in our room was new. The view from our balcony was fantastic, there are plenty of stores and ATM’s. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. Prizren is a beautiful little city.

I was there for a few nights in a single room. I think the rack rate is €25 for a single. Room was small and basic but clean, and seemed relatively recently renovated (much of the hotel had a newly renovated feel, though construction was still ongoing on the first floor). Room was nice and warm in middle of winter, sheets and towels felt crisp and clean, hot water/water pressure was fine. Wifi worked fine. Breakfast was included, a choice of about 6 or 8 options mostly involved eggs and pancakes. It won't win any Michelin star but was quite tasty and more than adequate (though for less than a €1 you can get amazing pastries around town anyway if you're still hungry). Staff were all helpful and friendly and spoke more than enough English to help me check in, organise breakfast, etc. It is a few minutes walk from the bus station, which was my preferred location. It's only about 10min walk to centre of town, with lots of fast food joints, supermarkets/minimarts along the way. If you have a room overlooking the street you will get some traffic noise (not enough to bother me, but i suspect this is a similar problem anywhere in Prizren given how cramped everything is). The coffee shop/restaurant seemed to be doing a brisk trade with non-guests having coffee or drinks...all of them seemingly smoking continuously any time of day or night. Again, I am not sure this is any worse than every other restaurant or bar in Kosovo, but enough to make me not want to linger much after breakfast. I would gladly stay here again. For a budget hotel, it ticks all the right boxes.

22-24/9/19 We three middle aged British guys had arrived in Prizren after an early start from Shkoder via minibuses and a ferry in the remote NW Albania. We arrived at the bus terminal late afternoon on a Sunday and made our way the two hundred metres via the derelict mosque to the modern hotel. On entering this smart hotel we went to the empty reception with its four clocks of times around the world (including 'Sidney', all wrong by the way!) some guests called over 'Denis' who came from the bar to greet us. He took one passport and checked us in, sending us to the lift to go to room 305. The main room had a big bed (165cm wide) aind two single beds with fresh new clean linen on. The tiled floor was clean. The double bed had a bedside table each side, one shared with the parallel single bed. There was a reading lamp each side of the double bedstead powered from a multi socket lead from the wall socket. The curtains on the big window kept the morning light out. A large wardrobe with a full length mirror had four coat hangers in but there were no hooks in the room. A small fridge (with a freezing compartment) kept our beer and white wine. A very well priced minibar menu offered lots but inside the fridge were only four bottles of still water in it and four cold beer glasses. We were not sure if the eTer was complimentary or purchasable so did not take any. Behind the fridge was a wall mounted electrical heater (not the best arrangement for fridge efficiency though!!). A table chair was by the fridge and only useful for putting things on. The big picture windows slid open to reveal a wide balcony with four comfy armchairs and a coffee table. Our first drinks and late lunch went down well on that! The view of the castle and mountains behind was impressive. The hotel could also easily be seen from the castle as it was red! The large bright, tiled bathroom had an actual jacuzzi bath with internal coloured LED lights and a radio. This was quite a luxurious novelty at this price! All the bathroom lights were turned were turned on from outside and all synchronised with the extraction fan so it was always a bit noisy when going into the windowless bathroom. There was no electrical socket (as European H&S would dictate so they are future proofing) so our portable plug in LED lamp was not possible to set up anywhere. The only bin (lined) in the accommodation was by the toilet so a bit inconvenient so an extra lined bin in the room would be useful. There were strong lights over the sink cabinet for shaving and the water pressure was good for jetting my shaver out. There were also plenty of hooks and towel rails for towels (a full set each of bath hand and flannel as well as a floor mat were provided) and clothes. Three sets of soaps and shampoos were provided too. The 28 inch LED TV had a digital settopbox with CNN and BBC (pay channels here) included. They were powered via a double adapter in the one socket available (next to one powering the fridge). The contacts were very loose (a general problem with the two pin unearthed Europlug system which varies everywhere) so getting the to and STB to work together was a pain (it was also hidden behind the fourth bed so that had to be moved out a bit from the wall). Also charging any devices form that side was not possible because of the lack of sockets and looseness so not allowing me to use my own triple adapter. The WiFi was reasonable, with occasional outages or slow speeds and the signal just managed to get to the double bed headboard which is where one uses it most! The transmitter is in the hall opposite the room. Other rooms (301-4) may have less of a signal. The lift could be heard regularly but was not a problem. A large TV was in the hall (of each floor) with a set of comfy sofas and a table. This might be a noise problem if used to watch football as a group might, or an AV Presentation for small business groups considering how echoey the hall is. The first evening (after the long journey was my excuse) I just had to try out the jacuzzi. It was very good, with a functioning jet on my back (make sure you start at low volume!), changing coloured LED lights, local music (FM radio via a tinny speaker). It was my first experience of a domestic hot tub and it worked. I had to turn off the main lights for the main effect! It did produce a hefty sulphurous smell which was offputting and a scum appeared on the foam (only a bit of shower gel put in, honest) quickly. On reading up this problem the hotel should be cleaning it with a dose of bleach or vinegar regularly. I am not sure if every room has this as we had not got the matrimonial suite! It was quite a luxury. After giving it a good clean, emptying the jets after the session I used it again the next evening and it was not smelly at all. I shall clean it again after (I am writing some of this review just after). The first night (and second) we slept very well without any disturbances at all, even from outside. A very friendly young waiter worked on my first breakfast ay 09:20 greeted me and presented a laminated menu of a list of eight options of breakfast. The kitchen was open to the dining area and the two busy women prepared a very tasty omelette for me with side portions of ajvar, tomatoes, cucumbers, a green pickled chilli, white goat's cheese, olives, butter pat, honey carton and a plum jam carton. A large basket of six small hot tasty rolls were also provided along with a coffee of my choice (a proper coffee!). This was a very good start to the day with the bread being especially nice. The only problem I had was that two women nearby, having breakfast too, were allowed to smoke even though no ashtrays were on any of the tables. Maybe they had connections but it was not pleasant first thing in the morning. The management need to crack down or they have to find a far away corner! Having said that quite a few places we saw since seemed to allow smoking inside. Maybe things will change if they want to accede into The EU? We paid for the two nights the second evening by card at reception. The young receptionist was the daughter of the owner Denis and her brother checked us in the previous day so it is a true family business. It seems to have a steady flow of customers bring quite business oriented but very comfortable for tourists. Our second breakfast was at 08:00 as we needed to catch the 09:00 coach to Skopje. The young man was there again and the breakfast was good again. I left two 50cent tips for the cooks on the counter making sure they knew they were to get it (the young man got his yesterday) but they acknowledged them left them on the counter so they probably do share the tips. We left at 08:40 happy for the bus station two minutes away via the ruined mosque. Overall a great place to stay if you do not mind being ten minutes from the centre via some busy small roads, erratic drivers, badly parked cars and puddles in the rain!
