Great location on the banks of the Crocodile River and very close to the Malelane gate of the Kruger National Park. Saw a great variety of animals visiting the river while sitting on our balcony, pool deck and from the restaurant. Rooms are large, clean and well furnished. Staff are brilliant-so helpful and friendly. Secure car park. Close to town centre. Surrounding areas seemed very safe
Thank you very much for the great and super friendly Service dear Simon and Ncobile! See you next year again! Zimmer sind sehr sauber! Beim Abendessen kann mann zwischen 3 Fleischgerichten wählen....Hat sehr lecker geschmeckt!
This is a gem of a place, close to the Malelane Gate at Kruger Park. We arrived mid afternoon after a long journey from the UK and were welcomed by the friendly staff. Our room was on the top floor and had stunning views into Kruger Park, and we watched Kudu, Impala, Warthog, Elephant and Hippo all from the bar area seating. The day we left apparently had a herd of bout 200 Buffalo drinking in the river There is a limited menu, but what is served is tasty and well presented, all washed down with a few cold beers made for a great start to our break. The hotel has invested in an uninterrupted power supply to avoid disruption from the frequent power outages.
The small Inn is a great value and good location choice. Specially for those coming out of the Kruger National Park at Malalane gate, it is the best place to stay to have your car checked. Very near the city yet secluded in a quite place with fantastic river view to the national Park. The new manager is very attentive and willing to listen to things they might be able to improve. It is very clean and the swimming pool is clean. I hope they will require guests to take a shower before taking a swim (not usual practice in South Africa but usual practice in International hotel).
We spent just one night in this quiet hotel near the Kruger NP. The property is beautiful and well located in front of a national park river. We had an upstairs room, large, clean and with a large bathroom. Due to energy rationing in this part of South Africa, the hotel was dark with no lights during the evening hours. Despite this situation, our room had light and therefore we could use it comfortably. From the lights, it seemed to us that there were only 3 rooms occupied and in any case only three tables were set for dinner. Since there was no light, we had a candlelit dinner on the terrace with the Crocodile River completely dark and therefore we could not observe the animal life along the river. The dinner was very good with the meat cooked to perfection. Unfortunately they didn't sell bottles of wine so we dined with beer. They told us it was possible to bring a purchased bottle but staying only one evening we couldn't do it. The staff have always been polite, helpful and kind. The electricity then came back and was cut off again during the night. Given this situation, we put our mobile phones and the camera on charge as soon as the electricity returned and we disconnected them as soon as they were charged to avoid subjecting them to possibly current surges. Although we could not stay in the hotel in the best conditions for this electric rationing (situation obviously not dependent on the hotel), we believe this hotel is a very good solution for those who go to Malelane or want to visit the Kruger NP.…
