Very private and secure. The location is convenient, but away from all the hustle and bustle (which allows for quiet walks and easy parking). It was fun to explore Rockridge & surrounding areas, but very easy to highways as well. Suite was well decorated and amenities were appreciated. Would definitely recommend if looking to stay in the Oakland/Berkeley area.
We spent four days at this B&B in the Oakland hills while visiting our daughter at Cal Berkeley. The apartment-like accommodations were immaculate, beautifully appointed and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was "do-it-yourself", but very adequately provisioned with fresh fruit, cereals, juice, yogurt and some excellent coffee. Brenda met us upon arrival and showed us around, then left us to ourselves except to see to the cleaning each day while we were out. She also gave us a complimentary bottle of quite decent wine. This is a lovely home in an exclusive area for less than the typical Oakland hotel. We look forward to staying again... probably several times. While many fine B&Bs are a bit eclectic, Acacia House is elegant. Certainly plan to use a GPS to find it unless you are quite familiar with Oakland.…

I have stayed at the Acacia House twice on visits to the San Francisco area and would highly recommend it to anyone who would wants to feel that they are actually living in the wonderful San Francisco Bay area, if only for a brief time. The home is located atop a hill in an upscale quiet neighborhood of Oakland within a mile or two of the Rockridge BART station, so it is just a short drive to Berkley by car and convenient to San Francisco by BART. If you are unfamiliar with the area, as I was, this is really a great location as there are many restaurants and unique shops that line College Avenue. The suite, which is very private and has its own entrance, consists of 3 rooms, a living room/kitchen combo, bath, and a separate bedroom which are all wonderfully furnished. I loved the fact that parking is available right in front of the house. The innkeeper provides a welcoming stocked kitchen with coffee, juice, milk, fruit, etc. and even cookies. The attention to detail is evident throughout the suite from the fresh cut flowers on the table to the assortment of shampoos & lotions in the bath. There are so many little surprises. Note, breakfast is not served but that wasn’t a concern for me. It is a lovely suite and if you ever considered staying at a bed and breakfast but were afraid it’s a small bedroom in someone house, this suite proves that all B&B’s are not alike.…
A great place to stay in the Oakland area with none of the hassles of parking, noise, or limited space. The accommodations are wonderful - a very comfortable bed, well decorated suite, excellent ammenities. We liked having access to the backyard, the privacy of the suite and the ability to accommodate visitors. Our daughter found it for us and it didn't disappoint. We would highly recommend it.
I've stayed in numerous B&Bs over the years for business travel. This is the first where I felt like everything was clean, fresh, and beautiful. The suite is gorgeous and private. As a woman, often traveling alone, safety is my number one priority. At Acacia House, I felt safe and secure....and pampered...an added bonus. I highly recommend staying at Acacia House! The room itself includes a private entrance, a lovely sitting room, and a separate bedroom that is decorated with wonderful detail. It's not for the faint of heart, as there are quite a few stairs to climb to get to the suite, but with parking right in front, you are much closer to your room than you would be at a hotel or many other B& B's in the Oakland Hills. Also, I loved that there was fresh fruit, coffee and other treats waiting for me in my room upon check-in. I also love that BART is conveniently located and there are many choices for restaurants nearby. San Francisco is short drive away and it's an easy drive to Cal Berkeley. If you like B&Bs, but prefer a more private setting, this is perfect. And for the price, it sure beats a big hotel in the area!…
