I stayed here with friends during Santarchy. It was located perfectly near all the action and great restaurants/bars in cork town. Love the décor and staff. Cute coffee café for in the morning. Gated parking and affordable. I will only stay here from now on...続きを読む
The hotel felt very cool urban hipster. The staff was extremely nice and professional. The rooms we very clean (I love hard surface floors, seems so much more clean) and well decorated - though minimalist. There was a small bar and restaurant in the lobby,...続きを読む
It was excellent! Gated secure parking. The staff makes you feel very welcome. Very comfortable and clean accommodations. Great price for the location with super cozy beds!! We will most definitely be back when I stay in Detroit again!!
I thought the Trumbull and Porter was a nice, modern place at a good value. It is in the closing stages of a total renovation in an area of Detroit that is revitalized with good restaurants, bars and shops nearby. The staff was friendly and...続きを読む
I had a great stay at the Trumbull & Porter hotel with a few other couples. The hotel is in the process of aggressive renovations and I hope that I'm able to return to see the finished product! I'm not sure what the hotel was...続きを読む
Yes there is the main hub on Michigan and Cass Ave. It would be a 15 minute walk or a 5 min Uber, Lyft or Taxi ride.

Hello Cathryn,Trumpull and Porter Hotel is less than 1 mile (0.9 to be exact) away from the Joe Lewis Arena. Duccy, Turk444, & HaroldM19 are spot on with their time estimates for driving or walking. Have a great day!
Any concerns with safety in the surrounding area. I don't know Detroit well. I know there are rougher parts but I do not want to jump to conclusions.

The area is for the most part safe. Corktown is an up and coming area so aesthetically you might think it is unsafe due to the state of the roads or the odd abandoned building but the the neighborhood is well populated and right next to bustling downtown. There's a bunch of coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and breweries along Michigan Avenue and among the neighborhood. You can easily get to the riverfront from the hotel. The giant abandoned Michigan Central Station is in Corktown and is definitely a must see; however, I wouldn't go exploring around the building at night. (Again, not that I have heard of crimes happening around there, but because it's just kinda haunting and decrepit).
Mexicantown is right on the other side of I-96 from Corktown and easy to get to via Bagley or Vernor. Another safe neighborhood with some unique restaurants.
The rougher parts of the city are generally further from the core and most visitors are unlikely to see the more dangerous areas.
