This was our first stop in South Africa, and did not disappoint! Would recommend.
- Dithaba Lodge we stayed in was only 4 rooms, and incredibly private.
- Game drives with our guide JP were adventurous and fun. We saw everything - cheetah, lion,...続きを読む
This safari Lodge was absoluly stunning the setting and the comfort was second to none.
The staff were super friendly and so polite and helpfull.
I would recommend this lodge to sesoned safari travellers and beginners.
Kopano Lodge consists of only four suites for an exclusive bush and safari experience close to Johannesburg.
Be ensured of personal service, earthy décor and divine meal times. Our ranger Donald was determined to find the elusive leopard, the fast paced cheetahs and the hilarious...続きを読む
I stayed at Madikwe only for one night, but I left wanting more. Upon our arrival on the first day, we were immediately greeted by the staff and shown to our rooms. We then went out to the lunch patio for a nice buffet lunch....続きを読む
We were delayed at the airport so arrived late at the airstrip in madikwe. The flight was on a small plane and was quite bumpy. Complimentary drinks and snacks were available on the short journey. When we arrived at the airstrip one of the guides...続きを読む
We will be staying here this coming May and wanted to get a better idea of the bug factor. Were the mosquitoes out of control where you had to cover your body with bug spray all day everyday? Also, did anyone encounter tsetse flies here? If so, where within the lodge and how bad was it?
We appreciate your help in advance!

May is generally a cooler month with very few mosquitos, I would however suggest using an insect repellent in the evenings (this is also supplied by the Lodge). It would not be necessary during the day.
Fortunately there are no tsetse flies in Madikwe.
We looking forward to welcoming you to Madikwe Safari Lodge.
I have a trip booked to stay at the Tau Game Lodge this summer. I have a question for anyone into photography. I am a hobbyist photographer and I am trying to decide which lens I should bring on the trip. Do I need a 150-600mm lens or is a 70-300mm or even 70-200mm sufficient enough for the safaris? Any advice would be great, thanks!

Hi there, I went to Madikwe last summer and also brought my camera (Canon EOS 1DX; full format). I was very happy with my Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L lens in terms of zoom factor and handling. Usually the rangers get you very closely to the game, so even the 70 - 300mm will do in my opinion (though you will have to crop your fotos in post-production).
Enjoy your trip - Madikwe is amazing.
Hi, I am looking at several Game Lodges and Madikwe seems to fit into our service level expectations and proposed budget.
My question is between Lelapa, Kopano, and Dithaba which would be the higest rated?
I am traveling with my husband and father. We will get a separate room for my dad. There are no children and we are looking for the best luxury experience (food, service, comfort etc).

Lelapa lodge is the main one where we stayed, and you can walk to the other one. I did not go but people who were with us transferred to lelapa as the other one was too quiet. Lelapa has the elephants in the watering hole right next to the swimming pool . This was the most amazing thing ! Sitting enjoying good food and drinking a glass of wine at lunch time then 30 plus elephants walk past and splash about in the water . Blew me away. It happened each day and I would not have wanted to miss it. Good food and beautiful suites. Go there you will not be disappointed !
