The Hotel Victor has the best carvery on the Fleurieu, with a fantastic vegetable and salad bar not to mention the yummy deserts. The atmophere in the hotel is great and you can also dine Al-a-carte if you wish. I highly recomend it to anyone.

Need to share the worst experience we all had on Saturday night. We booked to have dinner at HOTEL CROWN at Victor Harbour. Looking forward to it as we had been before with a great time. We ordered our meal and served by wonderful staff. We started at salad bar as they were busy and our meals would probably take awhile. We noticed the bread had run out so I made a polite, yes a polite complaint that they had run out of bread and small salad bar gad not been tendered too and contents were either empty or stale. Still nothing done. We still had no food and again approached staff and asked why a pub would put out hard frozen bread and not fresh and yet again nothing done to salad bar. Asked for the manager ( the bar staff had no idea who the manager was as I asked for their name) and he came over to attend to our complaint ( he seemed very understanding) and solution was to microwave the bread, and not touch salad bar. Now it's nearly an hour and no food with hungry kids, 1 meal arrives and the youngest starts eating ( spaghetti) on her own as our other meals still not arrived. I'm thinking that because I complained we had been bumped to last order for the night as large group who ordered after us were actually eating. Childish behaviour I'm thinking. Now on the hour I asked when our food would arrive and at this stage asked for manager again, when he arrived his attitude absolutely astounded me and Lyndall. Now I quote " before you start I will not tolerate my staff being yelled at by anyone" and my reply was (still calm) " I beg your pardon I never yelled at your staff but I'm very positive if we don't get our food soon you will" now he turns and walks away no discussions at all says something under his breath that I did not hear, and told us he will refund all our money back, little did he realise we had a bar tab going. Now our food arrived looks lovely, no the salad bar has not been attended to, not to worry coz at this stage we lost our appetite. A nice waiter arrives with cash and says it's our money back, our response was please take back your cash as we have a tab, please return my credit card as we won't be eating our meals. At this stage the salad bar was refreshed. Little bit late. I'm still wondering what staff did to our meals in the kitchen.
Now at home I searched for the owners of the Hotel. Found out it is Gunn Group of South Australia. Can not find an email address on their Home page, what a surprise. Hopefully they might read this and contact me. I doubt it. We will never ever attend the Crown hotel again but be assured Gunn Group I will let people know, and on your Facebook page, twitter page and trip advisor and any other forum I can find until I get an apology. I want nothing for free ( hence not taking the cash offered) just an apology from the manager and company representative. Wish me luck.
