Minfeng is a small town of 10,000 people and much quieter than Hotan without all of the blaring sirens. It was a pleasant surprise to arrive at a large new hotel in such a small town. The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed and the small but adequate bathroom marble tiled with plenty of hot water. As a bonus the drains did not smell. Dinner of Chinese food was good but as we left early morning I cannot comment on the breakfast. The large wooden burl in the lobby looked to me like an overgrown legless emu, a quirky display. The toilet rolls were rather small and in short supply unlike the ‘sex aid bar’ next to the noodles etc. that was stocked with several different condom experiences, “Super Vibrator” being the one of note, along with a female “Joystick” (I kid you not) plus male and female love oils.
