Decent, honest and reasonably priced hotel. It offers good location (within a few-minutes’ walk of the Sunday market, Khotan Museum and the People’s square), clean bathrooms, air conditioning, spacious though a bit worn out rooms and friendly Uighur staff. Corridors and my room were poorly lit at night, though the latter had plenty of light during the day. The bed is hard (in the typical Chinese way) but comfortable, wide and with clean sheets. I did not have the chance to try the breakfast (included in the room rate) since I stayed during Ramadan. During my stay in Khotan, I decided to spend one night in the Taklamakan dessert (highly recommended with friendly guide Kurban Siraji – 13779291939 –email@example.com). Even though I had made a reservation in advance for a full week, they had no problem in not charging the night I spent out. They also provided free space to store my big bag pack. No English is spoken by the reception staff (at least during my stay) but I was able to check-in and check-out with basic mandarin. You will not find any luxuries, or fancy amenities in this hotel. But then, I think you will hardly find any of that in Khotan. Enjoy what this city has to offer, it won’t disappoint you. The five-star rating I have decided to give to the Taxina hotel is, of course, taking into consideration its location. In a much developed area and city it would be lower.…
We payed 180 yuan which is compared to similar other Hotels in Xinjiang a bit high. The room was clean but the bathroom was not very nice like often in China. (The Yuzhou Century Hotel would be a good alternativ (although more expensive) but at the Moment they are not allowed to take foreigners.) The Hotel Name on the Building was also in English Letters, so it was not to difficult to find it. The staff did not speak English but it was not a problem to check in. No breakfast included.
We had real trouble finding a hotel that would take foreigners in the city, but eventually got guided to this hotel. Turns out to be the best hotel we stayed at in all of western china. Staff, room and breakfast were great, not to mention the market being just down the road. My wife and I speak Mandarin, so not sure what staff would be like with English speakers but we had no problems and would heartily recommend the place to others.
Good hotel, the rooms in the back are quiet, but the beds are not very comfortable. You ll be wake up at 7 am by the revolutionary songs played by the government. Very close to the night market. It seems it is the best option in hotan. Hot shower, no problem in the bathroom
