Right outside our door, there is a big area that had big boxes sitting there for the whole time. Area doesn't look too inviting. Air Conditioning was Very loud. While in our unit, we could hear people talking somewhere but that actually didn't bother me.Room...続きを読む
Older hotel with many lovely upgrades. Beautiful pictures on every room wall. Furniture is dark wood French style. We saw the same style in a plantation home tour. Very elegant. The bed in each bedroom was four poster style and, although comfortable, they creaked a...続きを読む
We stayed here as part of an international timeshare swop. The apartment we had was great - it had a loft style bedroom and lovely atmosphere. The kitchen and bathroom were small but they were absolutely adequate. Yes the property is old - hello its...続きを読む
We spent a week in a very spacious suite, very clean and well furnished.
The hotel is really centrally located and we enjoyed good food and good music literally on our backyard ! The staff was polite and housekeeping was impeccable.

I have to say parking is at a premium. If you stay at the Plaza Suite and use their parking (in an alley next to the hotel), you can't move the car for the duration of your stay. There is a parking garage nearby (so I was told) but I don't know the rates. If you park on the rooftop of Harrah's (about 2 blocks away) there's a daily charge unless you visit the casino each day (easy for some of us). The parking is $15/day at the Plaza and I think it's around $35/day at the parking garage and Harrah's (again, Harrah's is free when you visit the casino daily) but I wouldn't swear to it. To be honest, if you're a walker, the French Quarter is nearby (although the Quarter covers a lot of ground) and cabs are not that pricey from the Plaza (about $8 for the three of us to Jackson Square or the Market) We rented a golf cart (for up to 6 persons is available) for $99 for 4 hours and drove up and down every street in the Quarter in that time. They're easier to park if you want to stop for lunch (parking for a fee, except on Sundays). The Plaza will tell you about available nearby parking.
Please send hotel Tel# & e-mail address. How far is hotel from French Quarters & Mardi Gra activity?

Hotel is a twenty minute walk from Jackson Square in the French Quarter or about a ten minute walk from the beginning of the French Quarter. Mardi Gras occurs on Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. Therefore it varies every year. Activities occur all around the city in the two weeks or so before Fat Tuesday. On that last day, especially at night, the French Quarter, especially Bourbon Street, is a bit crazy. However, various parades occur all over town and you need to check the routes which are available during the Mardi Gras season.
How to get there from airport, is there any type of shuttle service or other mode of transport?
