We found Maliki heights finally and were shocked , sitting in the driveway next to the abandoned appliances and bedding we checked the address over n over . Yep it's the right place we drove up the narrow driveway to find 8 cars filling the lot totally one of the people sitting on the back steps yelled over the boom boom music playing asking if we were there for the room, saying yes we're told to check front house.. Looked for a couple minutes couldn't find an entrance so with the music and the slum looking condition we left..I contacted Maliki by email asking to cancel and was told its up to the rental company , numerous emails rental agent says hotel refused to refund... Calling this a hotel is a joke , anyone offering this as a rental should be ashamed .. Be warned its a dive and not worthy of consideration ..
I was booked to stay here for one night in January. It was booked three months in advance through booking.com. One week before our arrival, I got an email saying they had overbooked and couldn't honor my reservation.
Funny that when I checked them out online for that night on AirBnB, they were available but for a significantly higher price. Stay away. Sketchy and dishonest!
4 bedroom house divided in half, so two rooms share a bathroom and kitchenette on each side. Fridge had expired food in it from past guests, whose garbage was still in the trash as well. Room was ok, bed was comfortable. Previous reviews of insects may have prompted screen repair because I didn't notice any. Geckos camped out on the outside of the screen to our room (not inside) enjoying all the bugs the lights in the window attracted. If you're looking for a hotel, this isn't it. The signs say "bed & breakfast," but they're only half right. There is a bed. We had our side of the building to ourselves because someone cancelled on the other room. It would have been pretty crowded in the single bathroom otherwise. No AC, but none was advertised. Unfortunately I was told that Honolulu was experiencing a record string of nasty humidity, so we melted.
Warning: this place is dark, filthy, and gives the worst first impression of Hawaii. Broken furniture, ( broken chairs, bed dresser), disgusting bathroom, kitchen. Insects everywhere. Unsafe in every respect. This is not a charming retreat in the forest although it could be if it were demolished and rebuilt up to code and state standards. Don't even think about staying here... We are world travelers and we have stayed in a variety of places, this is the worst. We met local people who thankfully rescued us !
