As managers it is our policy not to respond to reviews, both good and bad, as they are all retrospective. In this case, however, given the level of commentary generated, we thought it appropriate to clarify actions employed.
We do accept that as all units are individually owned, our room configurations and décor do vary. We also acknowledge that there have been instances where our contract cleaners have been lax in their duties. As a consequence, we do have a policy of liaising with guests when required in an attempt to find a solution that is satisfactory to all parties. This case was no different. Via contact from our after hours service, we did offer to meet with guests and to show them alternatives. This was declined with guests stating that they were leaving and had no interest in either speaking directly to, or meeting with us. Our cancellation policy is in place to protect the interest of the unit owner in these instances as we do not have the ability to then relet the booked room,
At no stage have these guests chosen to deal directly with us, but have sought recompense through 3 different institutions, including claiming a disputed transaction on their card. We understand all parties have failed to find fault with our actions which would appear the catalyst for guests instigating a number of negative on line reviews. We accept this is their prerogative but had they been receptive to direct communication we are sure this could have been resolved without all the angst it has generated.
In closing thank you to those guests who provided positive support to this post. We accept that we don't always get it right, having to walk a thin line between unit owner and guest expectations, but our commit is to always seek and offer alternative solutions satisfactory to all parties.

Thank you for your inquiry in regards to Sandcastles on the Broadwater. We supply two tea towels, facewashers, bath mat, towels, hand towels. You have a full laundry so you can wash and dry these when needed. We supply enough tea, coffee, sugar, laundry powder, dish-wash, toilet paper for the first night and then it is up to each guest to replenish stocks.
When you vacate we ask that you remove all your rubbish from the unit, there is no need to mop or vacuum as our housekeepers will do this.
