I am a solo backpacker, came to Chiangmai with kind of no plan. I like to explore hostels, stay diffirent places each night. Then l found Inthanon Hostel and met PJ in Jomthong. PJ is really cool and kinds person, she gave me advices about what to see and how to go around, and she let me use her motobyte to explore around without charging me any money. If she is free, she will take me to explore some beautiful views and landscape, l really love it. She also cooked meals for me sometime, and it lovely delicious. The hostel itself is nice and clean, with wooden decorations, the bathroom is clean, with hot shower. If you come you Doi inthanon, l really recommended you to meet PJ, she will gave you the real experience of traveling in Chiangmai, with her kindness and smile :) Thanks! PJ…
Me and a friend were doing a motorbike loop around mae Hong song province in Northern Thailand and ended up in Chom Thong as night fell on us. We looked for hostels online and found this place on Google maps, but on arrival found out it had been closed for the month. After talking to PJ (the owner) for a short while, she made no fuss about making an exception for us and hosting us for one night, even at her inconvenience. She was very personable and made us feel at home right away, doing all she could to make our time there as comfortable as possible. We had not created many plans for our further travels, so she gave us some great advice on what to see and do in doi inthanon national Park, and provided us some copies of very useful and well made hand drawn maps (made by herself!). The dorm we stayed in itself was very cosy, with a bit of a European winter chalet feel to it. Good aircon, WiFi, and access to clean bathrooms with hot showers. Across 6 weeks of travelling in SE Asia, this was possibly my favorite hostel/homestay I stayed in, thanks to the homely cosy feel and great hospitality from PJ. I do not recommend anyone goes here if they see it is closed somewhere online - as not to inconvenience PJ. But otherwise, I could not recommend this place more! Thanks PJ!…
I stumbled across this cute hostel when I arrived in chom thong early for a meditation retreat at the nearby temple and decided to walk around town a bit. When I saw the hostel I walked in and the owner PJ immediately offered me something to drink and, when I told her I was doing a meditation retreat, she even offered me some of her white clothes to wear. PJ made a strong impression on me - she was clearly hospitable and generous, but also really down to earth, cultured, knowledgeable and super interesting to talk to. As soon as my retreat was over (3 weeks later) I came back to the hostel and asked if I could spend a couple of nights there. I'm so glad I did because the first day she took me to pick longen (a small, sweet fruit, which is now one of my all time favorites) from her parents farm and drove me around with her on her motorbike as if I were part of the family. She prepared dinners for me without me even asking, and even helped me ship some things home. Not to mention her hostel is a convenient location for motorbiking up to doi inthanon (the tallest point in Thailand) and for visiting the temple. If I ever come back to Thailand I will definitely make sure to stay with PJ again!…
This place is more of a Bed and Breakfast joint, it being a traditional Thai house where the owner resides and rents out the rooms to guests. I checked in here as a jump-off in my quest to ride to the top of Doi Inthanon. What struck me most about my stay was the honest and unpretentious attitude of the owner - PJ. Upon realizing my reasons for traveling there she naturally assumed the teammate role and took to the task of helping me prepare for my ride. this included laundry, baking the best pizza and seeing to it that the preparations for my ride were in place. It's actually the homey feeling that made my stay comfortable. I felt more like a family member than a paying guest.
