This statue was erected in 2014 on the 20th anniversary of Tom Jobim’s death at the age of 67 in New York. We encountered it on a walk along Ipanema Beach.
It is just a statue. Not worth going out of your way to see.
For those like myself who love the arts and culture, don't miss out on this cultural space. It offers an art gallery, a bookshop, a cafe and a cinema. I´ve been many times to this place and it always the same standard, good food as the french know how to do. Good meat. The chef is very nice, always there and usualy comes in every table to ask if all are satisfy. The place is also nice with an intimist atmosphere. Honest prices.

We stayed in this hotel for one week and cannot complain about anything. The hotel has the perfect location between Ipanema and Copacabana beach. It is just a short walk to both. Rooms are nice and stylish. Breakfast is very good.
Staff is going the extra mile and try to help you as much as they can. Everybody is friendly...
